Pinto Beans

Closely related to kidney beans, Pinto beans are extensively used in Mexican cuisine.

They are light brown, with dark red-brown speckles and become a consistent pinkish brown when cooked. Pinto beans are extensively used in Mexican cuisine, such as chilli, stews and refried beans. They combine well with chilli and coriander and can be puréed to make spreads and dips.
