Slow-Roasted BBQ Ribs DF GF

Pork ribs slowly roasted in the oven and basted in our smoky sweet barbecue sauce. You can finish these off on the barbecue instead of the oven if you prefer.

  • 1.5 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dark brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic granules
  • 1 teaspoon fine salt
  • 1 teaspoon cracked black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon chilli flakes
  • ½ teaspoon celery seed
  • Ribs
  • 2 racks pork loin ribs (1kg)
  • 100ml Epicure Smoky Barbecue Sauce

    Mix together the paprika, brown sugar, garlic granules, salt, pepper, chilli flakes, and celery seed in a small bowl. Sprinkle over the ribs and and rub in until evenly coated. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours, but preferably overnight.

    Heat oven to 120ºC, Gas Mark ½. Line a baking tray with foil, place the ribs on meat side up, and cover tightly with another layer of foil. Bake for 3.5 hours, undisturbed.

    Remove the ribs from the oven and drain off any accumulated liquid. Baste with half the barbecue sauce and pop back in the oven for 15 minutes, keeping the ribs uncovered. Baste with the remaining half of the barbecue sauce and cook 15 minutes more.

    Cut up and serve with additional barbecue sauce, if you like.
